THE BOAT

Rhodes Bounty II built by Palmer Johnson in 1961. Kept on Lake Michigan until 2003. In 2003 she was purchased by an Oklahoma sailor and brought to Lake Texoma. In 2006, she had an engine fire that totaled the engine, wiring, plumbing and instruments. Hull was not damaged, cabintop suffered minor fiberglass damage in forward cabin, all portlights damaged, substainial cabinet damage in forward cabin (where fire flashed through forward hatch), and of course a lot of smoke damage. In the picture you can see the heat damage to the mainsail and mainsail cover.
